Overview of International Houses
Our university dormitories were established with the purpose of providing students with a comfortable living and learning environment as part of our welfare facilities, while also promoting a fulfilling student life through communal living. Between 1966 and 1967, three Keyaki Dormitory buildings (No. 1–3) were constructed adjacent to the Koganei Campus, followed by Keyaki Dormitory No. 0 (currently Sakura Dormitory) in 1972, and Kaede Dormitory (female dormitory) near the Fuchu Campus in 1986. After more than 40 years, the Keyaki Dormitories became increasingly deteriorated, leading to the suspension of new admissions in September 2007. They were then fully renovated and reopened as new student dormitories in March 2010, resulting in the creation of Keyaki Dormitory (male dormitory) with 200 rooms and Sakura Dormitory (female dormitory) with 18 rooms. Furthermore, in August 2016, Hinoki Dormitory, consisting of 111 rooms for both male and female students, was newly completed adjacent to the Fuchu Campus.
