This is an introduction to Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology's original scholarship programs (grants-type) for AY2026.

Eligibility Requirements for Scholarships

Undergraduate Programs

1 Scholarship for academically outstanding students (1) March of the graduation year
(2) Approximately 24 students, 100,000 yen (200,000 yen for early graduation)
(3) Among students who graduate from the undergraduate program of our university and proceed to graduate school, the scholarship will be paid as a lump sum after progression to graduate school to those with outstanding academic records at the time of graduation.
2① TUAT Scholarship
(4-year bachelor's program)
(1) March of the graduation year
(2) 100,000 yen for all eligible applicants
(3) In order to strengthen financial support for students who wish to proceed to graduate school master's (doctoral) programs or Specialist degree programs at our university, we will provide a one-time scholarship to those who meet all of the following conditions after proceeding to the program.

-Those who have graduated from a four-year bachelor's course at this university and will proceed to a graduate school (master's, doctoral, or Specialist degree course) at this university.
?The student is not eligible for the "grant scholarship" under the New System for Higher Education and is a "JASSO Type 1 Scholarship recipient."
2② TUAT Scholarship
(6-year bachelor's program)
(1) March of the graduation year
(2) 200,000 yen for all eligible applicants
(3) In order to strengthen financial support for students who wish to advance to or transfer to a doctoral program at our university, we will provide the following students with a one-time scholarship after they advance to or transfer to the doctoral program:
(Eligible applicants) Students who have graduated from our six-year bachelor's program and will proceed to (transfer to) our graduate school (PhD program, four-year doctoral program, or third year of integrated doctoral program)
3 Akira Endo Scholarship

(1) Around August
(2) A few people, up to 1.2 million yen per year
(3) To provide financial and academic support to students who are highly motivated to continue on to the doctoral program at our university, a monthly scholarship (100,000 yen) will be provided from the fourth year of the bachelor's program (fifth year for the Cooperative Department of Veterinary Medicine) until the completion of the doctoral program.
Note: Applicants must be in their third year of undergraduate studies (fourth year for Cooperative Department of Veterinary Medicine) or above (applications at the graduate school level are not accepted).

1 Research Grant Program "JIRITSU"

(1) After January of each year
(2) 600,000 yen ~ Note) Applicants will be Supervisor. The number of hires varies depending on the year.
(3) With the aim of supporting the promotion of the independence of young human resources with a view to world-class researchers, graduate students who have been granted the title of Research Fellow are given the opportunity to independently work on research projects based on free ideas, and the necessary funds are provided as research incentives.

(3) In order to strengthen financial support for students who wish to proceed to the doctoral program at our university's graduate school, we will provide the following students with a lump sum after they proceed to the doctoral program.

Those who have completed a graduate program at this university (Master's, Master's, or Specialist Degree Program) and will proceed to (transfer to) a graduate program at this university (Doctoral (secondary) program, or the third year of an integrated doctoral program)

●Doctoral Program

1 FL-SPRING

(1) Every year around January to March
(2) Approximately 50 people will be hired per year. They will receive support such as research grants equivalent to living expenses (2.22 million yen/year), and research funds (150,000 to 300,000 yen/year).
(3) This program will be implemented at this university with support from the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) [Next Generation Researcher Challenging Research Program]. It will support challenging and interdisciplinary research by doctoral students and promote the improvement of research capabilities and researcher capacity development so that outstanding doctoral graduates can play an active role in various careers.

FL-BOOST

*Until new hires in FY2026

(1) Every year around January to March
(2) Hire approximately 2-3 people per year. Support will be provided through research grants (2.7 million yen/year) and research funds (1.2 million yen/year).
(3) This program will be implemented at this university with support from the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) [Next-Generation AI Human Resource Development Program]. The aim is to strengthen the research pool in the national strategic field by providing doctoral students who are engaged in research and development that contributes to the field of AI and emerging/interdisciplinary areas within the field of AI (next-generation AI field), thereby fostering innovation and strengthening industrial competitiveness.

3 Research Grant Program "JIRITSU"
*Special provisions for research grants

(1) Every year from January onwards
(2) From 600,000 yen Note: The applicant will be Supervisor. The number of recipients varies depending on the year.
(3) In order to support the promotion of independence among young researchers with a view to becoming world-class researchers, graduate students of our university who are given the title of research fellow are given the opportunity to independently tackle research topics based on their own ideas, and the necessary funds are provided as research grants.

*Special exception for research scholarship benefits: The university will support a portion of the research grant if certain requirements are met.

4 Doctoral (second semester) course
Outstanding Student Scholarship
(1) Around May and October every year
(2) About 50 people, 100,000 yen/time (For details, please refer to the SIRIUS bulletin board)
(3) Paid according to the achievements such as publication of papers during the student year (those who have published an English paper that can be confirmed as a Q1 journal on the official website of Web of Science or Scopus as the first author or corresponding author) ?Only once per year (up to 3 times)
5 TUAT Scholarships
(United Graduate School of Agricultural Science Constituent Universities)
(1) April
(2) 200,000 yen for all eligible persons
(3) Scholarships will be provided as a lump-sum payment to students who have completed graduate school (master's, master's, and Specialist degree programs) at Utsunomiya University or Ibaraki University and enrolled in the university's United Graduate School of Agricultural Science program with the aim of strengthening financial support for students who have entered the doctoral program.
